1932 ford v8 - During the 1930, the Ford Cars was threatened by the introduction of the six cylinder engine from Chevrolet, which could be used in the trucks. This invention was deemed to be superior to the four cylinder engine of the popular Ford Model A of that time. As reciprocation to this, the Ford V-8 engine was designed which changed the course of Fordâ€™s history.

Though first designed only for its cars, Ford also started making pickup trucks which used the V-8 engines for its power. The pickup truck looked like then very popular ford model B or Model 18 cars except that it was much longer.

However, the biggest benefit of these new vehicles was the V-8 engineâ€™s innovative design where the pickup truckâ€™s fuel tank was located in the lower rear rather than the earlier models this helped ford motors to rely on engine-driven fuel pump rather than the conventional gravity feed. The pickup truck was then designed either it could carry heavy articles from one place to another or it could also be used as mass transportation for the common public.
